What job/study are you doing right now and tell us a little about it?
Advanced Nurse Practitioner since 2016. I joined the NHS in 1991 and started 3 years of nurse training at Warrington Hospital. Until 1994, varied career of cardiothoravic scrub nurse, general surgery and Urology. Also working in a private hospital, before 17 years of accident and emergency and then attaining a position of senior nurse practitioner and advanced nurse practitioner in the primary care setting. I left St Cuthberts in 1987 and was also a prefect.
Did you do any further/higher education?
Studied at St Helens College Newton Campus for 2 years after school to obtain further qualifications. Several courses at various universities since qualifying as a RGN.
How did you decide on your career path and what is/was most interesting about your work?
Working for one of the biggest employers in the UK. Meeting colleagues and patients on assist basis. Never a dull moment.
Can you share a couple of fond memories of your time at St Cuthbert's?
Being part of the School Shows as I played the flute and sang in the choir. Life long friends.
Did you have a favourite/influential teacher? What made them so important to you?
School was character building and made me who I am today.

Enjoy every minute and grab every opportunity given to you with both hands.
