What job/study are you doing right now and tell us a little about it?
After completing my undergraduate degree in computing, I am now set to start a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in secondary computer science! I'm sure there are many teachers who knew me within my time at St.Cuthberts that will find this very hard to believe!
Did you do any further/higher education?
After leaving St.Cuthberts in 2010 I went to Cowley International Sixth Form where I studied A-level business studies, applied science and duel IT. It was in my time at Cowley that I discovered a passion and skill in IT and Computing. After Cowley I undertook an undergraduate degree in Computing.
How did you decide on your career path and what is/was most interesting about your work?
Although it can be said that I was resilient to education in my early teenage years, the supportive teachers at Cuthies saw my potential and pushed me to achieving good results at GCSE and made me realise that education was definitely the way forward. From then on my passion has been to either be in education myself or to teach. Hopefully in mid 2017 I will be a fully qualified teacher and help to inspire children with education the same way I was inspired.
Can you share a couple of fond memories of your time at St Cuthbert's?
My fondest memory is by far seeing and hearing Mr. Anderson sing songs as we left school on a Friday afternoon! And the toast in the rainbow cafe was the best!!
Did you have a favourite/influential teacher? What made them so important to you?
There where two teachers that supported me no end during my time in Cuthies and they are Mr. Anderson and Miss bowler! So thank you very much!
What advice would you give our current students?
Don't beat yourself up too much!! Always try your best and that's all you can do! Don't let anybody tell you that your best isn't good enough, if you tried your best then you did wonderfully.
