What job/study are you doing right now and tell us a little about it?

I am currently working as a Pensions & Savings Administrator. My job role involves calculating Pensions for different pension schemes, administrating the castor shares, and assisting the Senior Pensions Administrator and Pensions Manager when needed.

Did you do any further/higher education?

I went to Carmel College to study Law, IT, Combined English & History but left after 4 months as college life wasn't really for me.

How did you decide on your career path and what is/was most interesting about your work?

After leaving Carmel, I applied for a few apprenticeships in Administration. I got one with Connexions and knew that I enjoyed working as an Administrator, but I wanted to work my way up into a more challenging and interesting role. Once I completed my apprenticeship and gained NVQ Level 3 & 4 in Business Administration, I worked as a Finance Assistant, an Office Administrator and a HR Operations Administrator before finally gaining a role within Pensions.

Can you share a couple of fond memories of your time at St Cuthbert's?

I absolutely loved every minute of my time at Cuthies, but my most fond memories are of doing performances in Performing Arts club, having the priviledge of being Head Girl and history lessons with Mr Mcauley which were always fun!

Did you have a favourite/influential teacher? What made them so important to you?

My favourite teachers were Mr Mcauley, Miss Anderson & Miss Gifford. I had such a good relationship with them all and they seemed to really care about all of the pupils. They were important to me as they helped me to come out of my shell and really pushed me to be the best that I can be. I always had a good laugh with them!

What advice would you give our current students?

My advice would be to just enjoy every minute and appreciate everything that the teachers do for you as it goes by so quickly. The 5 years at St Cuthberts really were the best years of my life!!
