What job/study are you doing right now and tell us a little about it?
I am currently a Telecoms Recruiter. My job involves recruiting engineers for a telecoms based company. I work with candidates through the interview process and deliver any necessary inductions and training.
Did you do any further/higher education?
Yes, I completed my A-Levels at Carmel College and then went on to complete my degree at Liverpool John Moores University. I graduated in July 2014 with a BSc (Hons) in Applied Psychology.
How did you decide on your career path and what is/was most interesting about your work?
I decided on my career path as I enjoyed learning about people. The most interesting part of my job is meeting a wide variety of people and getting to know them. I find recruitment very rewarding and getting to see people succeed in jobs you have placed them in.
Can you share a couple of fond memories of your time at St Cuthbert's?
The best memories I have from St Cuthbert's would be all the fantastic trips and holidays I was lucky enough to be a part of. This included trips to Disneyland Paris, Durham, Wales and Belgium. Also my opportunity to be Unity House Captain in my final year.
Did you have a favourite/influential teacher? What made them so important to you?
Mr McAuley - Always gave me support and encouragement to succeed. - Made all his lessons so fun and gave me the motivation to continue studying History at A-Level. - Gave me confidence and made me believe in myself when he offered me the chance to be house captain. - For being a genuinely kind and wonderful teacher.
What advice would you give our current students?
Enjoy every day at St Cuthbert's because once you leave you'll spend most days wishing you could go back!
