What job/study are you doing right now and tell us a little about it?
I am currently working in Manchester as an Audit Associate at the accounting firm KPMG. I am also studying my professional qualification alongside, aiming to be a Chartered Accountant in 3 years.
Did you do any further/higher education?
After school, I went to Carmel College and studied Maths, Biology and Psychology. I then went on to the University of Leeds to study Psychology.
How did you decide on your career path and what is/was most interesting about your work?
Audit work wasn’t something I’d really considered until I had a taster day at KPMG. I really like working with numbers and the qualification is a challenge which I enjoy. Working for such a big company and meeting new people was a big factor in my decision to join the firm too.
Can you share a couple of fond memories of your time at St Cuthbert's?
My favourite memories of St Cuthbert's are the Battlefield tour in Year 9, which is still one of the best weeks of life, and finding out I’d been chosen to be Head Girl, which was such a big deal for me.
Did you have a favourite/influential teacher? What made them so important to you?
My favourite teacher was my form tutor Mr Jacks. He always believed in me and was a huge influence in building my confidence.
What advice would you give our current students?
Take every opportunity, go on every trip, volunteer for everything, try every sport. As you get older you really don’t have the time any more!
